tvN's new Monday-Tuesday drama 'Please Drink Responsibly' has unveiled a character relationship chart that captures the delightful relationships of the people in Bocheon Village.
tvN's new Monday-Tuesday drama 'Please Drink Responsibly' (written by Myung Soo-hyun and Jeon Ji-hyun / directed by Jang Yu-jung / planned by Studio Dragon / produced by How Pictures) is a sober romance drama about a woman who considered herself a typical drinker, who challenges her first-ever sobriety after reuniting with her first love, who hates alcohol.
As Han Geum-joo (played by Choi Soo-young) embarks on her first-ever sobriety journey, along with psychiatrist Seo Ui-joon (played by Gong Myung), who despises alcohol, the five characters are set to unfold a chaotic yet heartwarming sober journey, drawing attention to the diverse relationships within Bocheon Village.
First, the Bocheon Health Center is filled with unique characters. Following Seo Ui-joon to Bocheon is Baek Hye-mi (played by Bae Hae-sun), a former head nurse from a prestigious university hospital in Seoul, and Yeong-rong (played by Lee Tae-yul), a physical therapist who became a follower of Han Geum-joo due to the help she received during school. Their individual stories and reasons for being close to Seo Ui-joon and Han Geum-joo pique curiosity.
Additionally, Han Geum-joo's long-time friends Bong Seon-wook (played by Kang Hyung-seok) and Lee Young-woong (played by Park Gang-seob) each have crushes on Han Geum-joo's sister Han Hyun-joo (played by Jo Yoon-hee) and Bong Seon-wook's sister Bong Seon-hwa (played by Kim Bo-jung), showcasing their charmingly straightforward younger man appeal. Bong Seon-wook's bold expressions of affection towards Han Hyun-joo and Lee Young-woong's pure love for Bong Seon-hwa add a fluttering excitement to Bocheon Village.
There are also two couples who bring both noise and joy to Bocheon. Gi-beom (played by Lee Jung-ok) and Gi-beom's mother (played by Kim Hyun-sook), who run Bocheon Charcoal Grilled Ribs, frequently bicker with Han Jeong-soo (played by Kim Sang-ho) and Kim Gwang-ok (played by Kim Seong-ryeong), creating a lively atmosphere in the neighborhood. In contrast, the owners of Young-woong Supermarket, Young-woong's father (played by Son Sang-kyu) and mother (played by Joo In-young), act as peacekeepers, calling out, "Don't fight, just have another bottle!" Their presence, along with the owners of a Chinese restaurant (played by Kim Jeong-hyun) and a chicken shop (played by Ha Eun-seom), adds a warm atmosphere to the show.
Moreover, the appearance of child actors is expected to add a lovable energy to the drama. Han Hyun-joo's twin sons, Uri (played by Park Do-jun) and Nara (played by Lee Si-jun), exude boundless energy, while Lee Young-woong's daughter Hwa-young (played by Kim Min-chae) stands out as an adorable presence in the neighborhood. These unpredictable and cheerful children bring fresh vitality to the daily life of Bocheon.
Alongside this, Han Geum-joo's workplace colleague and best friend Choi Mi-yeon (played by Yeom Seung-yi), her ex-boyfriend Kim Joo-yeop (played by Yoo Ui-tae), and her boss Kim Soo-seok (played by Jeon Jin-oh) are set to form various relationships with Han Geum-joo, whether positive or negative.
The production team of 'Please Drink Responsibly' stated, "The people of Bocheon Village are living beings that create the flow of the story together," adding, "As their individual narratives and everyday lives accumulate, we hope to convey deeper empathy and warmth to the viewers."
The daily lives of those who endure life with or without alcohol will be showcased in the new tvN Monday-Tuesday drama 'Please Drink Responsibly', which premieres on May 12, Monday at 8:50 PM.
