The episode aired on the afternoon of the 1st, featuring the segment 'Hunting Deodeok to Wake Up from Winter Sleep' on MBC's entertainment program 'What Do You Do When You Play?' (directed by Kim Jin-yong, Jang Woo-sung, Jang Hyo-jong, Wang Jong-seok, written by Choi Hye-jung).
On this day, the members arrived at Gombaeryeong in Inje and set out to hunt for deodeok with the herbalist. As they began their hike, the members struggled to walk on the snowy path, saying, "Oh, I'm sinking in!" Yoo Jae-suk expressed his discomfort, saying, "Actually, we rarely get to climb snow-covered mountains while living in Seoul..."
As the cold wind blew, Jae-suk remarked, "It's tough in winter. Aren't we supposed to be filming for the production team?" and Kim Seok-hoon laughed, asking, "Can we really dig up deodeok?"
While hiking, the members discovered oyster mushrooms and exclaimed, "It smells like mushrooms!" When Joo Woo-jae said, "It just smells burnt," Yoo Jae-suk teased, "You city folks from Seoul!" The herbalist retorted, "How great is Seoul! I've lived there for 30 years! It's been 35 years since I came to Gombaeryeong," leaving Yoo Jae-suk feeling awkward.
At that moment, the herbalist shouted, "There's deodeok here!" and the members double-checked, asking, "Isn't this just a tree?" The herbalist encouraged them, "Clear the snow and gently dig! Look, there's more here," but Jae-suk struggled, saying, "So I just follow this? Oh, wait... there's a rock here?" The herbalist demonstrated, saying, "Just dig. Gently~ I'll dig, so watch closely."
However, he humorously gave up, saying, "Go somewhere else~ I'll dig it up in the spring, so go somewhere else!"
Eventually, they resumed their hike, and the herbalist stopped, saying, "I'm scared. I'm afraid my feet will freeze." When Yoo Jae-suk asked, "Whose feet?" the herbalist replied, "My feet," causing everyone to burst into laughter. He continued, "You’re wearing such good shoes, so you won't freeze! I'm not cold, but it is chilly," jokingly.
At that moment, Joo Woo-jae started fidgeting with his butt and said, "I have a cramp in my butt... I can just stay like this for a bit," striking an awkward pose. Yoo Jae-suk laughed, saying, "What kind of cramp do you have in your butt? Oh, I'll help you," and playfully patted Joo Woo-jae's butt, making everyone laugh. The herbalist joked, "You have to catch the cramp! You shouldn't bring a cat for that," sharing a dad joke.
During the hike, Lee Kyung heard the herbalist say he found deodeok and exclaimed, "Oh, I smell deodeok! Why is everyone gathering here because it smells?" trying to monopolize it. However, Joo Woo-jae pushed Lee Kyung aside with his body, causing everyone to laugh. It turned out Joo Woo-jae had just fallen over. Seeing this, Yoo Jae-suk laughed, saying, "A roe deer! You go in."
Eventually, when the herbalist dug into the ground, Yoo Jae-suk excitedly said, "I think it's coming out now! The head is coming out!"
At that moment, Lee Kyung dug up the first deodeok, and Yoo Jae-suk asked the herbalist, "Is it okay to eat this, teacher?" The herbalist replied, "What do you need to wash? Just wipe it like this," as he wiped the dirt on Yoo Jae-suk's gloves. When Lee Kyung said, "Dirt keeps coming out," the herbalist insisted, "It's ten times better than eating burnt pork in Seoul! We grew up eating dirt!" convincing Yoo Jae-suk.
Yoo Jae-suk said, "That’s convincing!" and took a bite of the deodeok, but immediately spat it out, causing laughter. He exclaimed, "Teacher, I can't eat this! It's all dirt!" as he continued to spit out the dirt.
Returning to the herbalist's house, the members split into teams to run errands. Upon arriving at the convenience store, Yoo Jae-suk and Haha picked out coffee, ramen, chocolate for the elderly, and snacks for the production team. After paying, Yoo Jae-suk hurriedly said, "Let's just eat one chocolate bar," quickly consuming sugar and smiling, "I haven't had this in a while, and it's really delicious! So tasty."
Haha, who was unwrapping the chocolate snacks, said, "Line up! Those who want to eat, line up and take it. Come here! Come here!" as he distributed snacks to the production team. Watching this, Yoo Jae-suk exclaimed, "What are you, the boss of this neighborhood?" but then added, "It's really delicious! Right now, I don't envy any delicacies."
Back at the herbalist's house, Yoo Jae-suk and Haha helped the members with cooking. The herbalist said, "You have to taste this one!" as he personally served the grilled deodeok.
Meanwhile, Jin-joo and Mi-joo, who had been making hand-made tofu, returned.
Later, the members hurriedly ate chicken soup, potato rice, grilled deodeok, stir-fried deodeok with pork, fish stew, and dongchimi. After tasting the grilled deodeok, Mi-joo exclaimed, "It's crunchy! So delicious!" while the herbalist insisted, "You can't eat it alone! You have to share!" as he distributed the winter deodeok little by little.
Yoo Jae-suk shared his thoughts on the hike, saying, "It's amazing that as I dug into the ground, the scent of deodeok rose up."
