Singer Park Ji-yoon shared her recent updates after a hiatus.

On the 19th, Park Ji-yoon appeared on EBS’s ‘Space Sympathy’ and talked about her efforts to break the stereotype of being a ‘sexy pop singer’ and the story behind her heartfelt album ‘Flower, Again First’.

Park Ji-yoon debuted in 1997 with ‘Sky Blue Dream’ and gained significant attention with ‘Coming of Age’, rising as a representative sexy icon of South Korea.

Regarding that image, she said, “At that time, I felt like people were looking at me negatively because of the image created by the producers,” and added, “I think I had a lot of regrets about being a singer back then,” expressing her honest feelings about the difficulties she faced.

At that time, Park Ji-yoon revealed that she put down music and took time to find herself during a six-year hiatus. She mentioned that she often went out alone for photo shoots, and while shooting ‘Flower’, she felt, “It was so beautiful but also looked so sad,” and “Beauty seems to disappear quickly, and it felt like it was a reflection of myself,” sharing the emotions she experienced during that time in an interview.

Park Ji-yoon introduced her acclaimed album ‘Flower, Again First’ by saying, “It is the album that allowed me to start making music again and made the current Park Ji-yoon possible.” She emphasized its special significance by stating, “If I hadn’t made my seventh album like that, I probably wouldn’t have been able to make it to my tenth album.”

In conclusion, Park Ji-yoon expressed her gratitude to the fans who have loved her for a long time.

‘Space Sympathy’ ‘Masterpiece Documentary Series’ airs every Wednesday at 10:45 PM on EBS.
