‘Please Take Care of the Eagle Brothers!’ Um Ji-won made her final decision.
In the 4th episode of KBS2's weekend drama ‘Please Take Care of the Eagle Brothers!’ (Directed by Choi Sang-yeol, Written by Koo Hyeon-sook), Ma Gwang-sook (played by Um Ji-won) took responsibility for the Eagle Brewery, opening a new chapter in her life.
The broadcast recorded a viewership rating of 19.3% (based on Nielsen Korea nationwide), achieving its highest rating and ranking first among all weekend broadcasts, nearing a 20% rating just four episodes in. A scene where Gong Ju-sil (played by Park Jun-geum) was fighting with the families of residents in a silver town, and Gwang-sook appeared saying, “Let’s go, Mom! I’ll take care of you,” soared to 21.5%, providing thrilling entertainment.
The shocking past of Dokgo-tak (played by Choi Byeong-mo) and Jang Mi-ae (played by Bae Hae-sun) embezzling funds from the Eagle Brewery and running away together was revealed. Dokgo-tak coldly told Mi-ae, who advised him not to be greedy about the brewery, “30 years ago, when you embezzled funds from the Eagle Brewery and ran away, it was you, Miss Jang, who handed me the accounting books, bankbook, and seal,” revealing the deep entanglement between the two families.
The tense encounter between Gwang-sook and Han Dong-seok (played by Ahn Jae-wook) was also depicted. Gwang-sook visited Dong-seok regarding the alteration fee for her wedding dress. Dong-seok misunderstood Gwang-sook's attempt to give him medicine as a push for the alteration fee. He hurt Gwang-sook by saying, “It seems like you just got married a few days ago; your husband must be really tired. If you treat someone like this, how long do you think you’ll live?” making their rocky relationship even more intriguing.
The first meeting between the youngest of the Eagle Brothers, Oh Gang-soo (played by Lee Seok-ki), and Han Dong-seok's daughter Han Bom (played by Kim Seung-yoon) also caught attention. Gang-soo witnessed Bom being threatened by a stalker wielding a weapon and, without hesitation, subdued him, saving Bom from danger. Later, Gang-soo learned that Bom was the younger sister of his military senior, Han Gyeol (played by Yoon Jun-won).
Meanwhile, Gwang-sook's determination to take over the brewery surprised viewers. Unable to give up the brewery that her husband had devoted himself to, she showed her strong will by even submitting her resignation to the company despite her brothers-in-law's concerns.
Joo-sil, who had issues with the residents at Golden Castle, decided to move out upon Gwang-sook's promise to take her to a better place. However, Gwang-sook's destination was the Eagle Brewery, and an angry Joo-sil attempted to return to Golden Castle, but Gwang-sook provoked her by saying, “Mom, I invested your deposit in the Eagle Brewery.” Ultimately, Joo-sil ended up living with Gwang-sook, raising curiosity about what spectacular stories would unfold in the future.
At the end of the broadcast, Gwang-sook immersed herself in research to create the perfect makgeolli, gradually adapting to the brewery. After countless efforts and failures, Gwang-sook succeeded in making makgeolli and even drove the truck that delivered it, transforming into a proper owner of the brewery. This heightened curiosity and anticipation for how she would shape her brewery life in the next story.
