Kang Hoon and Jiyeon received the Rising Star Award at the ‘2024 SBS Entertainment Awards’.
On the 29th at 8:20 PM, the ‘2024 SBS Entertainment Awards’ was broadcast live from the SBS Prism Tower in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. The awards ceremony was originally scheduled for December 31 of last year but was postponed due to a mourning atmosphere following the Jeju Air incident.
Immediately after receiving the award, Kang Hoon took the stage and said, “The ‘Running Man’ team has worked hard this year. I have memories of playing while removing name tags while watching ‘Running Man’. So, it felt like a dream to appear on the show, and I was happy. Lastly, I want to wish my mom, whose birthday is tomorrow, a happy birthday, and I received an award.”
Jiyeon then shed tears and said, “I am so grateful to be here.” She continued, “I really wanted to be on ‘Running Man’, so thank you for inviting me. I achieved my dream. I will become a rising star Jiyeon who can bring more laughter in the future,” which caught attention.
Meanwhile, the ‘2024 SBS Entertainment Awards’ will be hosted by three MCs: Jeon Hyun-moo, Jang Do-yeon, and Lee Hyun-yi. This year's Grand Prize nominees include Yoo Jae-suk, Jeon Hyun-moo, Shin Dong-yup, Lee Sang-min, Seo Jang-hoon, Lee Hyun-yi, and Kim Jong-kook.
