Members of the Antarctic Sejong Station winter research team talked about their dangerous life in Antarctica.

On the 8th, Min Jun-hong, a member of the Antarctic Sejong Station winter research team, appeared as a guest on tvN’s ‘You Quiz on the Block’.

On that day, Yoo Jae-suk asked, “Since Antarctica is a polar region, I understand that there are unpredictable weather anomalies. What kind of things usually happen in Antarctica?” Min Jun-hong replied, “There are days when the temperature drops below minus 20 degrees continuously. Also, due to blizzards, metal utility poles can fall over, or doors can be blown away,” surprising Yoo Jae-suk and Jo Se-ho.

Lee Jin-woong added, “When pipes freeze, we have to find the problematic pipes, but during a blizzard, the snow can pile up 2 to 3 meters higher than our height. I remember that 18 of us had to dig through that snow. It was so cold that even if we went inside the building to warm up for just 10 minutes, there would be nearly 50 cm of snow piled up again.”

Meanwhile, ‘You Quiz on the Block’ airs every Wednesday at 8:45 PM.
