Jeon Hyun-moo received a confession from Hong Joo-yeon.
On the afternoon of the 15th, KBS2's entertainment program ‘The Boss's Ears Are Donkey Ears’ (hereinafter ‘Sadangui’) featured Lee Soon-sil, Park Myung-soo, and Um Ji-in as bosses.
In this episode, Lee Soon-sil visited an all-you-can-eat buffet with the South and North teams that had a dumpling competition last week. Lee Soon-sil mentioned, “I don’t even drink a cup of coffee. There are no buffets like this in North Korea. If there were such a place in North Korea, it would go bankrupt in two hours! Stealing is normalized and a part of life!”
Contrary to her statement that “I can’t eat much because my stomach has shrunk,” she brought two full plates and pointed at the food, saying, “I don’t eat sushi, I don’t eat raw meat.” Seo Hyun-kyung added, “In North Korea, we can’t eat sashimi. It’s not that we don’t want to eat it. We can’t eat it fresh because there’s no electricity. We keep it in an ice box,” and Na Min-hee added, “Because of storage issues, we freeze it right after catching it and then cook it. I saw octopus tartare for the first time.”
When a staff member asked, “Don’t you need to go on a diet, CEO?” Lee Soon-sil replied, “When I eat, I don’t even touch a dog. I want to hit anyone who tells me to diet while I’m eating,” and went to get more food.
Lee Soon-sil continued, “Sushi is something the executives eat, and it’s disgusting. Why should I eat this? It’s dirty. Even when I was a flower girl, I ate frogs and dragonfly eggs, but I couldn’t eat fish. I even ate dragonflies. When you roast them, the wings burn first,” reminiscing about her past.
Mr. Noh Cheol-min shared, “I was so hungry in the military that I roasted a whole zucchini, but it wasn’t cooked, so it just tasted like grass,” recalling a bitter past. When a staff member asked, “Isn’t food well provided in the military?” Na Min-hee replied, “When my brother went to the military, he lost 20 kg. I couldn’t recognize him. He lost so much weight.”
Lee Soon-sil said, “Until 1986, we were given a lot of rice in the military. But starting in 1987, they began giving us rice lower than the height of the tray, and when we woke up in the morning, they told us to go dig up mountain herbs and roots to eat. The only good thing was snakes. It tasted like grilled eel. It was delicious~” She also shared, “I stole goats and puppies. I exchanged them for rice cakes and bread. And they even take apart car mirrors. They take them apart and give them as gifts to women. There are many women in North Korea who carry mirrors. There are no mirrors there. They steal everything except for people.”
The second boss was Park Myung-soo, who met comedian Kim Kyung-jin. Kim Kyung-jin said, “I bought a small villa in Ichon-dong, but I’m struggling to pay off the loan! My wife keeps asking why I bought it and tells me to sell it quickly, so I’m debating whether to keep it or sell it. You’re living here now,” and asked for real estate coaching. He continued, “When I don’t have broadcasts, I cover living expenses with event fees. Why didn’t you come to my wedding? Still, you gave me 500,000 won as a congratulatory gift,” sharing updates on his life.
Afterward, the two visited lawyer Yang Na-rae, and Kim Kyung-jin suddenly sought advice about his relationship with his wife. At that moment, Kim Kyung-jin's wife, Jeon Soo-min, appeared and confessed, “My husband bought the villa beyond our means. We have no living expenses right now.” When Kim Kyung-jin replied, “I have three properties in my name: an apartment in Gimpo, a villa in Itaewon, and an officetel near City Hall, along with a villa in Eunpyeong-gu in my wife’s name,” the lawyer pointed out, “Your total assets are about 2.3 billion won, right? The loan amount must be quite significant... You do have real estate, but it’s quite...” indicating a serious situation.
Kim Kyung-jin said, “I pay over 6 million won in interest. The rest is for living expenses. We try to keep our living expenses under 1 million won. In 2020, I opened a cold noodle restaurant in Ikseon-dong. There were a lot of foreign tourists. I made some money, so I thought if I opened another one, I could make more. So in 2021, I opened an LP bar in Hongdae. For the LP bar, I have a close friend who imports reptiles. If he’s too busy, he doesn’t open the store. So that year, I closed the LP bar. I remodeled the cold noodle restaurant again... and lost everything. I invested 100 million won, but it turned into nothing,” which saddened the panelists.
He continued, “My wife doesn’t have much sense of finance. She keeps selling and giving away the clothes she bought. You only need one winter coat and one summer outfit... but she buys coats in every length and boots in every length,” pointing out his wife’s issues. Jeon Soo-min responded, “I organize the clothes so they don’t pile up. I organize and share them as needed... What I don’t understand is that I like saving money. But she lends money to acquaintances,” criticizing Kim Kyung-jin. Kim Kyung-jin said, “There are friends among comedians who are struggling. So I took out a loan of 70 million won to help them. Now I have 30 million won left,” and the lawyer expressed anger, saying, “This could really be a serious fault.”
The third boss was Um Ji-in. In this episode, the meeting between Jeon Hyun-moo and KBS's new announcers continued from last week. Jeon Hyun-moo said, “Joo-yeon received an offer for a cultural program at her level of experience, but she said she wouldn’t do it. She asked to be a reporter for ‘Entertainment Weekly.’ Even though it’s not much, I find it so enjoyable. I did that and gradually appeared on entertainment shows and acted silly. When Kim Jin-woong asked, “You wore a turtleneck shirt, and it became a hot topic on the internet... was that intentional?” Jeon Hyun-moo shared a funny episode, saying, “They called me ‘unpleasant nipple’ and I went around saying I was a ‘nipple angel.’ But that became a habit. I went into radio news, and there was a president in Indonesia named Yudhoyono. I said ‘nipple nipple.’ So I even wrote a report saying I wouldn’t say ‘nipple nipple’ anymore.” He also shared, “I think it’s good to have a personal talent,” giving tips for entertainment.
Jeon Hyun-moo asked for MC tips, saying, “Joo-yeon, what’s your ideal type?” Hong Joo-yeon replied, “I like cute men. I like men like Jeon Hyun-moo,” surprising the panelists. Jeon Hyun-moo smiled brightly and said, “I will accept it,” while Park Myung-soo joked, “You two can split your assets 50-50,” causing everyone to burst into laughter.
