The recent situation of Kim Jong-nam, former member of the group Turbo, has been revealed.
On the 5th, Kim Jong-nam appeared on MBN's cultural program 'Exclusive World'. He was staying in a small fishing village community center in Tongyeong. Kim Jong-nam stated, "I thought it might become a job where I could live a second life," and revealed that he is working at a scallop farm. At night, he performs solo at night events.
Kim Jong-nam debuted with Kim Jong-kook in Turbo in 1995. At that time, they received great love and stood at the top of the music industry, but due to harsh schedules and unfair profit distribution, he eventually left the group and the entertainment industry.
Kim Jong-nam said, "We were hosting a program with Kim Jong-kook when the prosecution investigators came. There had already been some bad incidents related to the PD, and then the investigators showed up. So how do you think we felt? We thought, 'Is something really wrong here?' That's when I ran away." He added, "About a year later, Jong-kook was still in contact with the original company. It turned out that we had been scammed for the first time back then," and mentioned, "Despite the harsh schedules, the earnings were not much."
He was scammed again afterward. Kim Jong-nam shared, "I only know how to dance and sing. I thought about trying a business and got scammed, and when we tried to release an album, we got scammed again. They said they needed PR costs, and when I gave them money, they didn't book any broadcasts. (The scam amount) is close to 200 million won," which evoked sympathy.
Due to the continuous scams, Kim Jong-nam developed panic disorder. He said, "I've been taking medication for 10 years. I used to take it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but now I only take it for dinner. It doesn't seem to get cured. It feels like there's a stone in my solar plexus, and my heart drops to the floor. Since then, my heart starts racing. I don't know what to do. I feel anxious whether I'm sitting or standing," expressing his health concerns.
