Pop star Taylor Swift has regained the rights to the music from her first six albums.

According to reports from AP News and others on the 30th (local time), Swift stated in a post on her official website, "All the music I have made so far now belongs to me."

Swift revealed that she purchased the rights to her albums, which were originally released through Big Machine Records, from the private equity firm Shamrock Capital. The purchase amount has not been disclosed.

The albums Swift has reacquired range from her debut album "Taylor Swift" to her sixth album "Reputation."

Previously, Big Machine Label Group was acquired in 2019 by Ithaca Holdings, founded by music industry mogul Scooter Braun. Subsequently, this company sold the rights (master rights) to Swift's six albums to a private equity firm in 2020.

Master rights refer to the results of recording songs that were in sheet music form into albums or digital music, representing a type of neighboring right.

As a result, Swift made headlines by re-recording and re-releasing all of her albums from 1 to 6.

Swift expressed her feelings, saying, "The most precious things I have have finally become truly mine," and added, "I dedicated my life to this, but I am truly grateful to everyone who helped me reunite with these works of art that I have not owned until now."

Debuting in 2006, Swift is regarded as a globally successful figure, having been named the best pop star of the 21st century by the American music media Billboard.

Swift is the only artist to have won the Grammy Award for 'Album of the Year' four times and has placed the second most songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in history.
