The girl group I.O.I's reunion rumors have surfaced.
On the 15th, a media outlet reported that I.O.I (Jeon Somi, Kim Sejeong, Choi Yoojung, Kim Chung Ha, Kim So Hye, Zhou Jieqiong, Jung Chae Yeon, Kim Do Yeon, Kang Mina, Lim Nayoung, Yoo Yeon Jung) is planning to release a new song to celebrate their 10th anniversary next year.
The outlet stated that the members first gathered their intentions to "come together" and conveyed their wishes to their respective agencies, and recently, representatives from the members' agencies met to coordinate opinions on the timing of activities.
In this regard, a representative of one of the I.O.I members told Maeil Business Star Today, "There have been discussions among the members about working on a project for a new song to mark the 10th anniversary. It is currently under internal review."
I.O.I was formed through the Mnet audition program 'Produce 101' Season 1, which ended in 2016, and they were active for about a year before concluding their activities in January 2017. There were discussions about a reunion in 2019, but it fell through due to the vote manipulation scandal surrounding the program.
