The 'Korea Grand Music Awards' (KGMA), which successfully held its first event last year, paving the way for a new K-pop awards ceremony, will grandly host its second festival this year.
The KGMA Organizing Committee announced that the 2nd awards ceremony will take place on November 14 and 15 at the Inspire Arena in Unseo-dong, Jung-gu, Incheon.
The 'Korea Grand Music Awards' is an upgraded awards ceremony newly established by Ilgan Sports, which held the 'Golden Disc Awards' from 1986 until 2020 for 34 years, to present a new paradigm in the South Korean popular music scene.
The first KGMA, held on November 16 and 17 last year at the Inspire Arena, was conducted under the theme 'The Birth of the Galaxy,' featuring a total of 32 artist teams who delivered an unprecedented stage. On the first day, NewJeans' Hani and actress Nam Ji-hyun served as MCs, while on the second day, Aespa's Winter and Nam Ji-hyun took the stage, generating significant buzz. Six teams, including Aespa, NewJeans, Day6, (G)I-DLE, Ateez, and ZeroBaseOne, celebrated their victory by taking home the 2024 Grand Trophy.
