On the afternoon of the 24th, a press conference was held to commemorate the release of Kiki's debut album and first mini-album 'UNCUT GEM' at Blue Square located in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. The venue was filled with reporters eager to see Kiki.
Kiki, under Starship Entertainment, is the first girl group to debut in four years since IVE in 2021. The group consists of Jiyu, Isol, Sui, Ha-eum, and Kiya.
Kiki stated, “The seniors from (IVE) have been very supportive and offered a lot of advice. I think every moment we met was a happy one.” Among them, Jiyu caught attention by saying, “I met with the vocal teacher who is the same as IVE's Liz senior. I was grateful for the encouragement to keep going at that time.”
She added, “I’m gaining a lot of inspiration from the seniors, and I want to establish our own color while doing so.”
'UNCUT GEM' is an album that serves as a declaration from Kiki, who is more attractive because they are unrefined, to the music industry. The six tracks in the album contain Kiki's constant questions about youth. With beautiful and diverse melodies, they question the world without imposing anything, moving forward in a cheerful direction. They express various unpredictable music with their unique vocals, raising curiosity and expectations for the music they will present in the future.
Kiki will hold a fan showcase to celebrate the release of 'UNCUT GEM' at the same location at 8 PM that day. They plan to share the joy of their debut album release with fans through various segments, including the stage for the title track 'I Do Me', album talk, and performances of the included tracks. Notably, the fan showcase will also be broadcast live on Kiki's official YouTube channel, allowing them to create precious memories with fans from 126 regions around the world.
Kiki's first debut mini-album 'UNCUT GEM' will be available on various music streaming sites at 6 PM that day.
