Multiple domestic music organizations have come together to eradicate tampering.
Five music organizations, including the Korea Entertainment Management Association, the Korea Entertainment Producers Association, the Korea Music Label Industry Association, the Korea Recording Industry Association, and the Korea Music Content Association, issued a statement on the 19th, stating, "To ensure the healthy and sustainable development of the popular culture and arts industry (hereinafter referred to as the 'K-Pop industry'), we urge certain agencies and artists to cease their actions of pursuing their own interests through unfounded public opinion manipulation, known as tampering." They also requested the National Assembly and the government to support policies aimed at eradicating the major source of conflict, 'tampering.'
The music organizations pointed out that attempts to resolve issues through public opinion campaigns and unilateral declarations, referencing the dispute between Min Hee-jin and Ador, have become a trend. They stated that unilateral announcements by one side inflict a fatal blow to the K-Pop industry.
Additionally, regarding the proposed bill to prohibit workplace harassment of artists, which was introduced after NewJeans' Hani's National Assembly audit, they urged, "Please listen to the various voices from the industry regarding the legal basis for determining the employment status of artists and the working conditions of other K-Pop workers to create more effective systems."
The music organizations raised concerns that private disputes between artists and their agencies, exemplified by the NewJeans press conference, are being excessively exposed in the media. They believe this exacerbates industry confusion and leads to a crisis in the K-Pop industry itself.
Finally, the music organizations stated, "It is necessary to clarify the reality of tampering and to create institutional support that fosters a sincere implementation of exclusive contracts," and they earnestly appealed for the interest and support of the National Assembly, the government, and all sectors to help develop a proud cultural industry.
