Actor Jung Woo revealed that he was able to start 'Jjanggu' thanks to his wife Kim Yoo Mi.

On the 20th, an open talk for the 30th Busan International Film Festival invited film 'Jjanggu' was held at the Busan Cinema Center. Director Oh Sung-ho and actors Jung Woo, Jung Soo-jung, Shin Seung-ho, Jo Beom-kyu, Kwon So-hyun, and Hyun Bong-sik attended.

'Jjanggu' is a story that follows the events after the film 'Wind', which gained attention when it was released in 2009. It depicts the growth story of Jjanggu (Jung Woo), who left for Seoul to pursue his dream of becoming a movie actor, with a lively perspective. This is the first directorial work for Jung Woo, who also wrote the script based on the original story of 'Wind'.

Jung Woo said, "I remember being so happy when I heard that we were invited to Busan while editing 'Jjanggu' at the last minute. I greeted everyone with my work last year, but it feels fresh and new this time."

Taking on his first directorial challenge with 'Jjanggu', he shared, "After presenting the film 'Wind', which I wrote the original story for in 2009, the audience liked it more than I expected. So, I planned a sequel and spent about a year writing the first draft, pondering when to start the project. At that time, I had to put it on hold for several years due to working on the drama 'Reply 1994'."

He continued, "Thanks to my wife Kim Yoo Mi, who is an actress with a deep connection to the production company Fan Entertainment, I was able to start the project. She said it would be a shame to just leave it as it is. At home, she showcased how she felt about this scene and received praise for its uniqueness."

Kim Yoo Mi was directly involved in the planning of 'Jjanggu'. Jung Woo and Kim Yoo Mi met through the film 'The Red Family' and got married in 2016 after three years of dating. They welcomed their daughter in December of that year.

The 30th Busan Film Festival will meet audiences with a total of 328 films from 64 countries, including 87 films in the Community BIFF section and 32 films in the Neighborhood BIFF section. It will be held until the 26th around the Busan Cinema Center.
