Joo Hyun-young was involved in a traffic accident earlier this month while moving for a drama shoot. Although it was a minor injury, she focused on recovery by taking a break as advised by medical staff. As a result, actress Kim Ah-young appeared as a special DJ on SBS Power FM's '12 o'clock with Joo Hyun-young', which she hosts.

When asked about her current health, Joo Hyun-young said, "I'm doing well to the point of being embarrassed. After the injury, I took some time to focus on recovery. And thanks to Ah-young unnie, who hosted the radio DJ, I was able to completely clear my mind and rest, which was a time to recharge and get back to fighting spirit."

As she continues her role as a radio DJ, she mentioned, "I felt a sense of responsibility because I was following in the footsteps of senior Choi Hwa-jung, but since it was my first time, I was too focused on learning. Now, I think I did well and I'm grateful." She added, "Even if the stories aren't grand, I feel touched by messages like asking to celebrate our daughter's birthday. Especially, I think talking to listeners from various professions is a good indirect experience as an actor," expressing her satisfaction.

Previously, Joo Hyun-young gained attention for parodying famous political figures, including reporter Joo, on Coupang Play's 'SNL Korea'. This led to various rumors when she left 'SNL Korea' last year.

In response, Joo Hyun-young said, "Although the regime has changed, I was not influenced by anything before it changed. My goal was singular. I had a purpose to portray certain characters and show them through content," she cautiously stated.

When asked if she was scared, she admitted, "It would be a lie to say I wasn't scared, but I didn't have the luxury or environment to think about that. When I was doing SNL, I had to present the task the day after receiving it, not beforehand. So, I didn't have time to think or relax. Often, I had to rush to prepare the day before the performance, so I was busy digesting it all."

Having left 'SNL Korea' to focus on acting, she expressed, "I felt regret that I had to act in short bursts within 'SNL Korea', and once a character ended, I had to take on another role. I think there needs to be separate training for long-term projects. Especially when juggling 'SNL Korea' with other works, I felt a lot of shortcomings."

When asked if she would like to appear as a host, she replied, "I would like to appear as a host. However, since high school, I really wanted to be part of the 'SNL Korea' crew rather than just hosting. Watching the crew with director Jang Jin, I thought I wanted to be among them. So, I wanted to have a lot of fun doing it."

On the other hand, Joo Hyun-young mentioned that acting scary roles is harder than being funny, saying, "Both are difficult, but I find scary roles more challenging. To be honest, I've always enjoyed making my friends laugh since I was young and was a mood maker. But making someone scared seems to require a deeper level of engagement, which I find difficult," she joked.

Following 'The Horror Train', Joo Hyun-young is set to release the movie 'The Devil Has Arrived' and is currently filming the drama 'Good Woman Busemi', which is scheduled to be released in the second half of the year. When asked about her aspirations as an actress, she expressed a desire to be seen as a character.

“What I hope for as an actress? I hope that each viewer sees me differently. I wish to be shown as that character. In 'The Horror Train', I hope people see me as the character Da-kyung rather than just Joo Hyun-young. I want to be that kind of actor.”
