Tom Cruise's 'Mission: Impossible 8' has surpassed 2 million admissions and is cruising at the box office.
According to the integrated computer network for movie ticket sales from the Korean Film Council on the 29th, 'Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning' (directed by Christopher McQuarrie) attracted 95,142 viewers the previous day, bringing its total audience to 2,050,295.
Released on the 17th, 'Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning' is an action blockbuster where Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and the IMF team, faced with a dire crisis threatening all of humanity, risk their lives to embark on a single mission that all their choices lead to.
In second place is 'Lilo & Stitch', which gathered 12,684 viewers on the same day, bringing its total audience to 220,369.
Released on the 21st, 'Lilo & Stitch' tells the story of Lilo, who has been living alone after her parents passed away, and her journey to become a family with Stitch, a friend who comes to her as a gift. Originally released as a Disney animation in 2002, it has returned as a live-action film after 23 years.
In third place is the new film 'Cynus: The Sinners', which debuted in third place with 10,479 viewers.
Fourth place is taken by 'The Opposition' (directed by Hwang Byeong-guk), which has gathered 10,094 viewers, bringing its total audience to 3,347,906. It has comfortably surpassed the break-even point (2.5 million) and is enjoying a long run at the box office.
As of 7:40 AM on that day, the real-time ticket reservation rate is also led by 'Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning', with a reservation rate of 21.3% and over 68,000 tickets sold. Following closely in second place is 'Hi-Five', directed by Kang Hyeong-cheol, which is set to be released on the 30th, with around 67,000 tickets reserved.
