The legendary film that opened the door to the zombie apocalypse genre, '28 Days Later', is set to release its new sequel '28 Years Later' this June, unveiling a main trailer that captures the epic battle between survivors and the infected.
Just one day after the teaser trailer was released, '28 Years Later' proved to be a hot topic by recording over 7.5 million views in North America, and has now released a main trailer that depicts the aftermath of the outbreak of the rage virus and the horrific world that follows.
The sequel to the globally sensational film '28 Days Later', '28 Years Later' tells the story of a virus that was leaked from a biological weapons research facility 30 years ago, plunging the world into disaster. Some survivors have been living in complete isolation on an island, but one of them embarks on a mission outside the island and realizes the terrifying secret that both the infected and the survivors are mutating, leading to extreme horror.
The newly released main trailer begins with a gripping scene of armed individuals being attacked by the infected in pitch-black darkness. As both the infected and uninfected suffer heavy casualties, the survivors' stronghold, isolated in the middle of the sea, finally reveals itself, sparking interest.
As they step into the mainland, now dominated by the rage virus, the survivors find themselves in a situation where no support or rescue is available. Some survivors prepare for a life-threatening journey, and one of them, 'Jamie' (Aaron Johnson), joins his young son 'Spike' (Alfie Williams), drawing attention. Despite concerns that "he's a bit young," Jamie insists, "He's ready too," showcasing their strong determination. This raises curiosity about why they are willing to step into a world fraught with danger.
Upon crossing the tightly closed borders of the island and arriving on the mainland, faster and stronger infected individuals emerge, quickly escalating the tension.
