Comedian Jeong Se-hyeop (41) suddenly passed away on the 6th.

KBS2's 'Comedy Concert' announced the sad news of Jeong Se-hyeop's passing through their official Instagram on the 7th, stating, "We express our deep condolences for the unfortunate news of the late Jeong Se-hyeop. May he rest in peace."

Jeong Se-hyeop revealed in a YouTube appearance in 2022 that he had battled leukemia for five years but was cured after a bone marrow transplant.

In this regard, a representative from the Korea Broadcasting Comedians Association told Yonhap News in a phone call, "It is not certain, but I understand that the cause of death is not related to leukemia and is due to a heart attack."

The sudden news of Jeong Se-hyeop's death has shocked many, and interest in him continues.

Jeong Se-hyeop debuted as a comedian in 2008 through SBS's 10th special recruitment and was active in shows like 'People Who Find Laughter' (also known as 'Uchatsasa') and 'Gag Tonight'. His most notable character was 'Chow Chow', which gained popularity in 'Gag Tonight' with a dog costume.

Since last year, he returned to 'Comedy Concert' and was actively performing. In particular, he made a comeback as 'Chow Chow' in the 'Battle of the Century' segment, where comedians from KBS and other broadcasting companies compete in comedy, after 13 years, but the sudden news of his passing added to the sorrow.

The late comedian's funeral is set at the 2nd room of the Hambeak Mountain Funeral Home in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, with the burial taking place at 7:40 AM on the 9th. The final resting place is Hambeak Mountain Memorial Park.
