A Chinese idol trainee helped a taxi driver who was assaulted by a drunkard.
On the 4th, a video was posted on online communities and social media showing a young man helping a taxi driver being assaulted on the street.
The video shows a man presumed to be the taxi driver being assaulted while lying in front of a taxi on the roadside. In another video, several men are seen managing the situation.
Among them, one young man subdued the assailant's neck using a 'choke' technique.
Netizens identified the young man who subdued the assailant as Sun Hengyu (24), who appeared on Mnet's 'Boys Planet 2'.
When fans expressed their concern, Sun Hengyu left a message on his Instagram saying, "I'm fine. I have no injuries. Don't worry."
Sun Hengyu debuted in May 2022 with the group Blanky. He re-debuted the following year with the group DV.OL, but the group effectively disbanded last year.
In the recently concluded male idol survival program 'Boys Planet', he was eliminated in the 3rd round, finishing in 20th place.
At that time, Sun Hengyu expressed in a handwritten letter, "Although I couldn't achieve my dream of debuting, I have found hope that didn't exist a year ago," and stated, "I will no longer remain weak and will prepare for the future to come."
