Actress Han Ga-in recalled her experiences during her miscarriages.
On the 4th, a video titled ‘Han Ga-in, who experienced three miscarriages, shares the secret to conceiving twins through IVF (+ plans for a third child)’ was posted on her YouTube channel ‘Free Woman Han Ga-in’.
In the video, Han Ga-in said, “I gave birth to Jae-rin and Jae-woo through IVF, and the doctor who helped me is the person I should be most grateful to in my life,” as she visited her obstetrician.
Han Ga-in shared, “At first, I didn’t think about having a child, but when I decided to have one, I got pregnant right away. It happened within two to three months. I was so naive back then that I thought, ‘If I see two lines on the pregnancy test, I’ll become a mom right away,’” and added, “I was as happy as I was in the drama with my husband (Yeon Jeong-hoon).”
Han Ga-in recounted, “I went to a natural childbirth hospital at 5 weeks pregnant, and when they said there was some bleeding, I was shocked and thought, ‘It seems like there’s a risk of miscarriage, so it would be good to see this doctor.’ It was around Tuesday, and they said I probably wouldn’t make it to Saturday. When Saturday came, there was indeed bleeding. I went to the hospital and was diagnosed with a missed miscarriage.”
She continued, “The doctor, who was very certain, didn’t provide emotional comfort. They said it was like being in a car accident and that they would check to find out what went wrong, and there was a genetic defect.”
Han Ga-in revealed, “At that time, I had three miscarriages in the same gestational week, at the same time, with the same symptoms in one year. They say you don’t get into three car accidents, but I did. And from that point on, my mental state really collapsed,” adding, “I thought it was possible to have one or two miscarriages; I thought bad things could happen to me. But to have three miscarriages for the same reason in one year was something I never expected. I thought I was mentally strong, but I don’t think I’ve ever had such a difficult time in my life.”
Additionally, Han Ga-in expressed, “Since I struggled to give birth to my children, I can’t entrust them to anyone. They are so beautiful and precious that even when they don’t listen, I don’t get angry.”
When asked if she would have done well to have a third child, Han Ga-in jokingly replied, “No, it’s too far away.”
Han Ga-in married actor Yeon Jeong-hoon in 2005. They have a son and a daughter.
