Singer Uhm Jung-hwa recalled the time she met her fans through a concert after going through the trials of thyroid cancer surgery and vocal cord paralysis for 20 years.

On the 24th, a video titled “Uhm Jung-hwa Announces End of Diet?! Mukbang Accompanied by New Yongsan Vlog” was released on Uhm Jung-hwa's YouTube channel.

On that day, Uhm Jung-hwa mentioned the ENA Monday-Tuesday drama ‘My Precious Star’ and said, “I’m going to Hawaii after watching the first episode. I feel a bit like ‘I don’t want to watch it.’ I’m so nervous.”

She added, “I was so nervous when I held the concert,” recalling her solo concert in 2023, which was her first in 20 years.

Uhm Jung-hwa said, “It wasn’t a time when I was focusing on my singing career, and I had injuries to my throat, so I thought I would never be able to hold a concert again. The process of continuing to the concert while doing ‘Refund Expedition’ and ‘Dance Singer Wandering Troupe’ was so surprising. When the song started with ‘Eye’ from above, I looked outside and it was completely packed.”

Uhm Jung-hwa underwent surgery for thyroid cancer in 2010. After that, she suffered from vocal cord paralysis and was unable to speak for 8 months. Amidst this, her feelings about returning with a concert were particularly profound.

She said, “Whenever our fans heard it, the pink balloons were completely full. I wanted to cry. I just wanted to sit down. It was tears of joy. I thought, ‘I can’t cry. I really have to do this perfectly from start to finish.’”

She continued, “Now, if I hold a concert again, I think I can do it without fear or anxiety and enjoy it again. I want to make an album and hold a concert next year. Even if no one listens. Our fan club will have about 100 people listening, right?” she joked.
