Kim Heechul (42) of the group Super Junior reminisced about his debut days.
On the 20th, Kim Heechul appeared on the MBC entertainment program 'Radio Star' alongside Lee Sedol, Chimchakman, and Napoli Mafia, showcasing his wit.
That day, Kim Heechul appeared to promote Super Junior's 20th anniversary album. He shared that he is engaging in promotional activities with members Shindong, Kyuhyun, and Eunhyuk, bringing laughter.
He then recounted the story of the team's birth, mentioning former SM general producer Lee Soo-man.
"Super Junior exists thanks to Lee Soo-man," he stated, adding, "Back then, I loved rock music, only listened to rock, went to nightclubs as an adult, and even went down to Gangwon Province as a trainee. I wrote in my reflection paper, 'I don't know what I did wrong,' reflecting on my unstable past."
He continued, "Nevertheless, Lee Soo-man said, 'This kid is going to be an artist. He’s not the type to cause trouble,' expressing both his gratitude and remorse.
Recalling his early days as an MC on SBS music program 'Inkigayo,' he said, "My hairstyle was really long at that time, and the production team asked me to cut it. I was having a meal with Lee Soo-man then, so I snitched. He told the manager, 'Heechul can still do well with that hair. If you don't like it, let's take action then,' explaining the grateful situation at that time. Ultimately, Kim Heechul hosted the show with that hairstyle.
As he celebrates his 20th anniversary, Kim Heechul expressed his deep respect, saying, "I bought really expensive wine and visited Lee Soo-man's house."
Kim Heechul debuted in 2005 with the KBS2 drama 'Banolim 2,' catching attention with his pretty boy visuals. He officially debuted as a member of Super Junior in December of that year, gaining popularity.
Currently, he is showcasing his wit through various entertainment programs such as 'My Little Old Boy' (SBS) and 'Knowing Bros' (JTBC).
Meanwhile, Super Junior, celebrating their 20th anniversary, will hold 'Super Show 10' at KSPO DOME in Songpa-gu, Seoul, from the 22nd to the 24th.
