Comedian Lee Soo-ji recently pointed out the behaviors of some pensions that are currently under criticism.
On the 29th, a video titled "When you go to a pension" was released on the 'Hot Issue Ji' channel.
The video starts with a disclaimer stating, "This video does not intend to generalize or belittle all pensions, and it is adapted for comedy based on some cases."
The video depicts the experiences of two women who visit a pension.
Transforming into the pension owner, Lee Soo-ji brought out a watermelon as a welcome fruit when the guests checked in. As the guests happily ate the watermelon, she remarked, "What are you thankful for? You paid for it. Half a watermelon costs 35,000 won."
Additionally, the swimming pool was only deep enough to barely dip their feet, contrary to what was advertised. Lee Soo-ji stated, "There are additional fees for the swimming pool. Depending on the water level, there are extra charges. It's 15cm deep, and from 5cm, it's 50,000 won."
When the guests refused, saying, "Then we won't do it," she insisted, "Didn’t you think this would be filled in advance?" She also added, "The cost varies with the water temperature: 30 degrees is 30,000 won, 31 degrees is 50,000 won, and 32 degrees is 70,000 won."
Moreover, she insisted on wearing swimming caps, charging an additional 30,000 won each, totaling 60,000 won.
Later, she charged 10,000 won for the grilling plate and 20,000 won for a piece of meat. She also made it so that guests had no choice but to use bedding sets for a small bed, charging an additional 80,000 won, demanding over 480,000 won in extra fees aside from the room cost. She also insisted, "Check-out is at 9 AM, and you must finish all cleaning and dishwashing."
Through this video, Lee Soo-ji seems to reflect the complaints that have been emerging among recent pension users.
