Taemin of the group SHINee made a reckless comment regarding the prediction of an earthquake in Japan and has since apologized.

On the 6th, Taemin posted on social media, "I apologize for speaking carelessly about the earthquake in my desire to reassure the fans who are worried."

He continued, "I reflect on the fact that I did not fully consider the situation of those in the area or the risks of natural disasters, and I am also very worried. I am relieved that it has passed without significant damage. I will be more careful in my thoughts and words in the future," bowing his head.

Previously, during a live broadcast on social media, Taemin mentioned regarding the earthquake prediction, "You don't have to worry too much because it is still safe."

The prediction of the earthquake in Japan is a story contained in the book "The Future I Saw," published in 1999 by the famous Japanese manga artist Tatsuki Ryo. This book has drawn attention as it seemingly predicted events such as the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Among these, the content stating that a great disaster will occur on July 5, 2025 has heightened anxiety.

Currently, in Japan, there have been over 1,500 earthquakes observed in some areas over a fortnight, bringing real fear to those living locally.

When fans expressed concern by mentioning the prediction, Taemin lightly remarked, "I thought, what if I shake while singing because I'm a power N? I imagined it. Would it be cool if it shakes here? When it gets more intense while dancing, I wondered if it would really shake like 3D, and what if it shakes with fireworks going off?" This sparked controversy.

Taemin will hold a total of 11 performances for the '2025 Taemin Arena Tour' in five cities in Japan, including Kanagawa, Saga, Shizuoka, Chiba, and Hyogo, starting in September.
