Choo Sa-rang shed tears after receiving harsh criticism at her first model audition, while her mother, top Japanese model Yano Shiho, also had tears in her eyes.
The episode of ENA's Sunday variety show "My Child's Private Life" (hereafter "My Life") aired on the 29th, showcasing Choo Sa-rang's journey as she attempted her first audition to become a model.
On this day, Choo Sa-rang participated in the 2025 brand audition. Feeling the pressure of her first challenge, she calmly practiced her walking repeatedly to gather her thoughts.
During the event, Choo Sa-rang reunited with her older sisters, with whom she had attended a modeling academy, and surprised everyone by growing 13 cm to her current height of 167 cm in just one year.
As Choo Sa-rang entered the judging room, she approached her walk calmly, but displayed somewhat distracted behavior, such as taking off and putting on her glasses during the entrance process.
Designer Kim Min-joo urged her, saying, "Please just stay still for a moment. I want you to take this seriously."
Afterward, Choo Sa-rang completed her walk more calmly, and Yano Shiho, who was watching in the studio, expressed her surprise, saying, "I was shocked at how serious she was, more than I expected," while Lee Hyun also praised her, saying, "You're doing really well."
However, the feedback was harsh. Designer Jo Woo-jik criticized, "From the moment you stood in front of us, you seemed a bit distracted. You kept fidgeting with your ankles and pants. Your young age does not influence the judging criteria."
Designer Kim Min-joo also pointed out, "You looked playful, and your constant movement raised doubts about your seriousness. I questioned whether you are truly desperate. You have a lot going for you, but that's not enough." Nevertheless, she added, "You are really beautiful. Have confidence."
After hearing the judges' evaluations, Choo Sa-rang eventually burst into tears, and Yano Shiho, who was watching, also wiped away her tears.
