Singer Kim Jaejoong confessed that he was threatened by paparazzi after being spotted meeting with a female friend in Japan.
On the 29th, a video featuring Japanese female singer Nakashima Mika, known for her song "Snow Flower," was uploaded to Kim Jaejoong's YouTube channel ‘Jae's Friend’.
Although Mika and Kim Jaejoong first met over a decade ago on a music show, they have only recently become personally close.
In the video, Mika said, “I first met (Kim Jaejoong) on a music show. We went out for drinks and meals over ten years ago,” to which Kim Jaejoong added, “It hasn’t been long since we started drinking together. We’ve been in contact for over 10 years, but it doesn’t seem like we’ve met privately for that long.”
As top stars from both countries, their friendship has also led to some unfortunate incidents. Kim Jaejoong opened up, saying, “A long time ago, after a broadcast, I had a drink with Mika at a bar near Roppongi, and we were followed by paparazzi.”
He continued, “We drank until 5 AM, and eventually, the paparazzi took pictures of us. We weren’t drunk and were walking normally,” adding, “Later, the paparazzi said, ‘We have photos of you, so let’s do a paid photo book. If not, we’ll release the photos.’ So I told them to go ahead and release the photos.”
Mika chimed in, “At that time, I thought, ‘What’s so funny about this?’” and Kim Jaejoong joked, “I told them to take more pictures in the future.”
Mika revealed, “Kim Jaejoong thinks of me as a neighborhood aunt,” and added, “He video calls me at 10 PM asking, ‘What are you doing now?’ and keeps inviting me to join them for drinks.”
In response, Kim Jaejoong said, “There are times when I want to see Mika when I’m having an after-party with the staff in Japan. So I contact her,” and honestly stated, “I feel a sense of catharsis when I call her, even though she seems like a character who wouldn’t come out if someone suddenly invited her.”
Meanwhile, Nakashima Mika mentioned that her favorite Korean drama is the Netflix K-series ‘Crash Course in Romance’.
When Kim Jaejoong asked who she thought was a cool actor, Nakashima Mika expressed her admiration for IU, saying, “Whenever IU appears, I want to watch everything.” Kim Jaejoong also praised her, saying, “IU is really versatile. She sings well and dances well.”
