YouTuber Aori (33, real name Kim Min-young) has won a defamation lawsuit against a dermatology clinic that she accused of causing her to have full body bruises after a procedure.

On the 16th, a media outlet reported, citing legal sources, that the claim for 1.3 billion won in damages filed by a dermatology clinic in Gangnam, Seoul, against Aori for spreading false information was dismissed. According to the outlet, only Aori's ex-husband, Seo Ju-won, who had insulted the clinic, was ordered to pay 2 million won in damages.

Previously, Aori raised concerns in 2021 through her SNS and YouTube, stating, "I received a health injection at the clinic and ended up with bruises all over my body," and "I have not received proper compensation for this."

In response, the clinic filed a lawsuit claiming "false information dissemination." However, the court ruled that the 11 points mentioned by the clinic regarding Aori could not be considered false information, stating, "The clinic's claim has no basis."

The court noted, "The explanation regarding bruises in the consent form for the procedure was insufficient, and there were circumstances where the clinic promoted the injection as a 'health injection,'" concluding that Aori's statements were not false.

Additionally, the court found that the fact that the clinic director's daughter assisted in the procedure, the clinic's passive response regarding refunds, and the significant overrun of the expected procedure time were consistent with Aori's claims.

The criminal defamation complaint filed by the clinic was also dismissed.

In the case of Aori's ex-husband Seo Ju-won, his post on SNS during the escalation of their conflict, stating, "Don't change the subject, you jerk. It's shocking that a doctor like you exists in Korea," became an issue. The court ruled this as an insulting expression and imposed a fine.

Aori married race car driver Seo Won, a participant in Channel A's dating program 'Heart Signal,' in 2018 but divorced after four years. At the time, Aori claimed the divorce was due to Seo Won's infidelity and lost a lawsuit against Seo Won's partner for adultery.

Aori, who started as a model for an online shopping mall, currently operates a shopping mall called 'Roar.' She is affiliated with Sandbox Network and is active as a businesswoman, YouTuber, and influencer.
