Actor Choi Woo-shik has donated 100 million won to support the recovery from wildfire damage.
The Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association announced on the 27th that Choi Woo-shik donated 100 million won to aid in the recovery from wildfires in the Ulsan, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam regions.
Choi Woo-shik stated, “I wanted to convey my heartfelt support to those who have lost their homes and are going through difficult times due to the wildfires,” and added, “I hope that everyone affected can return to their peaceful daily lives as soon as possible.”
The donation will be used for practical recovery activities, including emergency support and the provision of relief supplies for wildfire-affected residents.
Meanwhile, since the 21st, wildfires in the Yeongnam region, including Sancheong in Gyeongnam and Uiseong in Gyeongbuk, have resulted in casualties and numerous evacuees.
Currently, the Ministry of Health and Welfare has decided to expand the existing disaster safety initial response team into an emergency response team that includes relevant departments due to the ongoing dry weather and strong winds causing the wildfires to spread, resulting in many casualties and evacuees.
