Lara from the group KATSEYE has come out.
On the 24th, Lara confessed her sexual identity through the fan communication platform Weverse, revealing that she is attracted to the same sex rather than the opposite sex.
On that day, Lara said, "In fact, coming out can be scary. Moreover, as a person of a minority race, I was also afraid because of the barriers, but I am proud of myself."
She continued, "I am grateful for the people in my life right now and for the support from my fans," adding, "My sexual identity is a part of me. I am not ashamed of it at all, and I feel good about it."
Lara debuted as part of the American localized girl group KATSEYE through the audition program 'The Debut: Dream Academy' aired last year.
KATSEYE is a multinational girl group co-produced by HYBE and Geffen Records, consisting of six members: Daniella (USA), Lara (USA), Manon (Switzerland), Megan (USA), Sophia (Philippines), and Yoonchae (Korea).
Since their debut, they have been active with digital singles like 'Debut', EP 1 'SIS (Soft Is Strong)', and remix single 'Touch (ft. YEONJUN)'.
