Actress Go Hyun-jung has personally revealed that she underwent a 'major surgery', and the cause of her sudden health deterioration has been pointed to the rigorous reshoots for 'Namib'.
On the 7th, Sporty News reported, "It has been revealed that actress Go Hyun-jung continued with the rigorous reshoots for 'Namib' despite her health deterioration." According to the media, during the filming of Genie TV's original 'Namib' (written by Um Sung-min, directed by Han Sang-jae and Kang Min-goo), a change in directors led to reshoots, causing Go Hyun-jung to experience difficulties on set.
In relation to this, Genie TV stated to Maeil Business Star Today, "It is true that some scenes were reshot," and added, "However, it is common to reshoot some scenes for quality, and it is unrelated to the co-directing issue." They did not disclose the duration or extent of the reshoots.
Previously, Go Hyun-jung suddenly announced her absence from the production presentation of 'Namib' held on December 16 last year. At that time, the 'Namib' team stated, "(Go Hyun-jung) received medical advice that she needed absolute rest and recovery," and her side explained, "She collapsed that morning and went to the emergency room."
Afterward, on the 6th, Go Hyun-jung posted on her SNS, "I was in so much pain that I was surprised, but now that the major surgery is over safely, I am regaining my senses. I will be careful and take good care of myself," revealing that she had undergone major surgery.
As Go Hyun-jung personally announced her health issues, attention was drawn, and the 'Namib' team stated, "We finished without conducting additional filming."
Go Hyun-jung's side also said, "All major scenes have been filmed, and we will finish without returning to the set."
While both sides concluded that they finished without additional filming, their positions are subtly different.
Go Hyun-jung previously left the SBS drama 'Return' in 2018 due to conflicts with PD Joo Dong-min.
As the cause of her health deterioration has been pointed to the rigorous reshoots, attention is focused on whether there is a conflict with the 'Namib' production team.
