In the 5th episode of the TV CHOSUN variety show ‘My Way - Over-Immersion Club’ (hereafter ‘My Way’), Lee Ji-hyun from Jewelry will be seen starting her second act in life as a hair designer. The reason behind her choice of hair designer as a new profession, along with the tense atmosphere of welcoming her first customer, is expected to capture the viewers' attention.
On this day, Lee Ji-hyun begins her day by heading to a hair salon in Cheongdam-dong.
As a breadwinner raising two children, she challenges herself with a new profession, stating, “I started idol activities at 15, so it was natural for me to go to the hair salon when I woke up in the morning,” and adds, “The salon feels familiar to me, which gave me the courage to take on this challenge.”
However, she reveals that the path was not easy. Lee Ji-hyun confessed, “I failed the national hairdresser exam seven times and passed on the eighth try,” showcasing her remarkable spirit of perseverance. Even after passing, she practiced on wigs for three months, and on this day, she finally challenges herself to work on a real customer.
Her first customer is a former national soccer player and a long-time male friend of Lee Ji-hyun, who gives her a challenging request. He asks, “I want to bleach my hair white,” and Lee Ji-hyun feels both nervous and excited as she prepares for her first treatment. The day promises to be a challenge for both the customer and the designer, creating a mix of laughter and tension on set, heightening expectations.
