'Jae-i's dad' Park Soo-hong recalled his wife while watching a high-risk pregnant woman who had undergone IVF treatment five times.
In the TV Chosun entertainment program 'Our Baby is Born' (directed by Lee Seung-hoon and Kim Jun, written by Jang Joo-yeon), which airs at 10 PM on the 30th, 'birth correspondent' team leader Park Soo-hong meets a high-risk pregnant woman who is 37 weeks pregnant and is about to give birth, along with the newly joined 'new groom' Kim Jong-min, whom he met in the previous pilot.
Park Soo-hong praised the husband, who takes on all household chores instead of his heavily pregnant wife, saying, "Once the baby is born, the father's role is important. It's not easy for the mother to move around. The baby needs to be fed at any time, so the father's bottom doesn't have time to sit down," complimenting the 'light-bottomed' husband.
The high-risk pregnant woman was suffering from 'idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura', a condition where the cause of platelet count drops is unknown. Since a decrease in platelets can lead to bleeding problems, it can be fatal, but after consistent treatment, she was declared cured and prepared for pregnancy.
However, the disease recurred for no apparent reason, causing anxiety for both the mother and the husband. Especially since the fetus was conceived after five IVF treatments, Park Soo-hong added, "My wife received over 190 injections during her IVF treatment. If it's five IVF treatments, that's over a thousand injections in her body." In response, the 'new groom' Kim Jong-min, who is preparing for a second child, was surprised and said, "It's amazing that you are having a baby," gaining a new understanding of the difficulties of pregnancy and childbirth.
Meanwhile, at 20 weeks pregnant, the mother visited the hospital due to bleeding. She learned that there was a problem somewhere in the artery within the uterus. Although the bleeding stopped during the examination process, the cause was not found.
The mother, who was even told by the medical staff, "Did you not know that your body shouldn't be pregnant?" had to endure persuasion throughout her pregnancy to "give up the baby for the sake of the mother." Nevertheless, she shared her reason for protecting the baby, saying, "I just wanted to hold a baby once."
Whether the high-risk mother, who has difficulty with hemostasis due to 'thrombocytopenia', can successfully complete the childbirth process, which is essential for bleeding, can be confirmed in the domestic first childbirth relay variety show 'Our Baby is Born', airing at 10 PM on the 30th.
