Yoon Min-soo revealed the reason for living with his ex-wife.
On the afternoon of the 24th, Yoon Min-soo appeared as a new member on the SBS entertainment program ‘My Ugly Duckling’ (hereafter ‘My Ugly Duckling’).
During the broadcast, when asked how he has been since the divorce, Yoon Min-soo said, “The divorce news came out last year, but both my ex-wife and I had some bad things happen. So we had to resolve those first, and it has only been about two months since the paperwork was finalized.”
He continued, “We got married when we were very young, so it’s not that we dislike each other; rather, we are getting along well like friends now. We decided to support each other. The lawyers also said it would be good if the divorce went this way. After the divorce process was over, we went out for gamjatang (potato soup) together.”
Yoon Min-soo added, “We even traveled together not long ago. It wasn’t an immediate decision to get divorced; it was something we thought about for a long time. I thought it was right to get divorced when Yoon-ho had grown up to a certain extent. When I asked Yoon-ho how he felt about the divorce, he said, ‘That’s your and mom’s life.’”
When asked if he still contacts his ex-wife, Yoon Min-soo replied, “We do keep in touch and are still living together. There are many things to sort out, but first, the house needs to be sold... Somehow, we are still living together.” This surprised the panel.
Yoon Min-soo, who lives in separate rooms with his ex-wife, said, “I used to spend a lot of time in my room before,” and added, “If I get hungry, I go to the living room or kitchen and then return to my room,” showing his tendency to stay indoors.
Yoon Min-soo, who only talks to his ex-wife when necessary, said, “I don’t think we’ve talked about anything other than Yoon-ho. Even if we run into each other at home, it’s not like we’ve lived together for just one or two years; we act like friends,” he answered coolly.
While unboxing a popular doll, Yoon Min-soo searched for the doll's price online out of curiosity. Excited by the search result of 200 million won, he called an employee and said, “I bought this for a friend, but it’s a secret. They said it’s 200 million on YouTube! Hurry and check!” expressing his amazement.
Later, Yoon Min-soo went to the kitchen and quickly made chicken breast fried rice with ingredients for two servings. Then he took out plastic wrap and portioned his mother's food.
Calling his pet dog, Soon-soo, to the room, Yoon Min-soo had lunch together. While watching a program called ‘Divorce Reflection Camp,’ he said, “Most people in marriage probably think, ‘At least I’m better off,’” as he immersed himself in the show.
Afterward, Yoon Min-soo called Yoon-ho, saying he was looking for workout clothes. Yoon Min-soo said, “You took the written driving test, right? Did you pass? If you fail the written test, it’s awkward. I’ll be working out, and you’ll be there soon! Are you being cocky just because you’ve gotten a bit chubby?” showing his friendly dad side.
Recently, Yoon Min-soo mentioned that he put his house up for sale and contacted his brother, who is in real estate. He said, “Right now, Yoon-ho is living with me, so it’s okay. But I wonder if it would be uncomfortable if it’s just the two of us without Yoon-ho,” explaining the current situation. His brother, who is a friend, advised him to lower the house price by about 10% as no one has shown interest yet.
Yoon Min-soo, who is also looking for a house to live with Yoon-ho, found a house in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. After 20 years of living alone, Yoon Min-soo sat on the stairs, lost in deep thought.
