Actress Kim Tae-hee revealed the reason for choosing "Butterfly" as her comeback project.
On the morning of the 21st, a press conference for the Amazon Prime Video series "Butterfly" was held at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall in Yongsan, Seoul. The event was attended by Daniel Dae Kim, Reina Hardesty, Kim Ji-hoon, Kim Tae-hee, and Sean Richard.
On this day, Kim Tae-hee stated, "There was no reason not to choose this work," and added, "When I read the script, I was drawn into the story and read it all at once."
Kim Tae-hee mentioned that her role as Kim Eun-joo does not have a lot of screen time, but she added, "However, it was a relatable role, and if I could portray a good image of Korean women, I felt proud and honored."
She continued, "I have always participated as a lead who drives the entire work, but in this project, I felt I could support the main characters Reina and Daniel and play a good role that supports the story's coherence. I hope the audience enjoys the entire work rather than focusing on me."
"Butterfly" depicts the story of David Jung (played by Daniel Dae Kim), a former U.S. intelligence agent shrouded in mystery, and Rebecca (played by Reina Hardesty), an active agent sent to kill him, in a cat-and-mouse chase.
This work features Korean-American actor Daniel Dae Kim not only as the lead but also as an executive producer, based on the graphic novel of the same name by Arash Amel.
"Butterfly" was released worldwide on Amazon Prime Video on the 13th and will air on tvN every Friday and Saturday at 10:40 PM starting from the 22nd.
