Moon Hee-jun, a former member of the group H.O.T., revealed the story behind his estrangement from his father.
On the 28th, the Channel A program ‘Close Friends Documentary - Four-Person Dining Table’ featured actor Kim Jung-tae, singer Moon Hee-jun, and former baseball player Kim Byung-hyun sharing their stories.
On that day, Moon Hee-jun mentioned that after having a child, he finds it even harder to understand his father, recalling, “About a month after I debuted with H.O.T., my father said, ‘Now that you have economic power, I’m going to leave home,’ and he left.”
Moon Hee-jun, who thought it was a joke at the time, said, “I actually understood back then. I thought there must be some circumstances between my parents,” and added, “I’ve been the head of the household since I was 19, but after having a child, I find it even harder to understand my father.”

When asked if he is in contact with his father, Moon Hee-jun replied, “I can’t contact him. A while ago, I reached out because I suddenly wanted to see him, but my mother was very angry.”
He mentioned that when his mother passed away a few years ago, he personally delivered the news to his father, but he did not attend the funeral. Moon Hee-jun said, “I don’t even want to hear my father’s story anymore. I was shocked twice.”
Unlike his father, Moon Hee-jun expressed deep paternal love for his children. He debuted while his family was in debt and lived in a house without a bathroom, using a shared restroom. Therefore, after getting married, he intentionally thought that he needed a house with a bathroom in the children's room, saying, “There is a bathroom attached to the children's room.”
