Actor Park Young-kyu has had a polyp removed during a health check-up.
In the KBS entertainment program 'Salim Nam Season 2' aired on the afternoon of the 19th, Park Young-kyu was seen undergoing a colonoscopy with his wife Lee Yoon-joo.
On that day, the couple underwent the colonoscopy simultaneously. Afterward, the medical staff handed Park Young-kyu a notice and medication as he woke up from sedation.
Upon reading the notice, Park Young-kyu said, “I must have had polyp surgery.” In contrast, his wife did not have any significant issues found.
The specialist opened by saying, “You mentioned this was your first check-up in 10 years, which is a huge relief.”
He continued, “There is indeed a problem; there is a colon polyp about 6mm in size, and if it had been left for another 2-3 years, it could have progressed to colon cancer, but it was removed this time.”
Eun Ji-won expressed his relief upon hearing that Park Young-kyu had undergone a colonoscopy for the first time after the production team of 'Salim Nam' had long persuaded him, saying, “It’s such a relief; if you had only gotten checked two years later, it could have been a big deal, you saved a life.”
The specialist added that a biopsy was sent to confirm whether the removed polyp was adenomatous or not.
Meanwhile, Park Young-kyu recently drew attention by revealing his 25-year younger wife on the broadcast.
