The production team of Mnet's new audition program ‘Boys2Planet’ has released a statement regarding the character controversy surrounding participant A.
On the afternoon of the 17th, the ‘Boys2Planet’ team stated, “The production team recognizes the seriousness of this matter and is currently verifying the facts regarding the allegations raised on social media.”
They added, “We are gathering accurate information through the individuals mentioned in the post, as well as those who worked at B Entertainment at the time and related people.” They emphasized, “Separately, we are also closely examining whether there are any legal issues involved.”
On that day, an online community post surfaced, alleging character issues regarding trainee A, who is set to appear on ‘Boys2Planet’.
The author of the post stated, “I thought it was necessary to inform the public about the wrongdoings and character of trainee A, who is already receiving great love as a representative idol trainee of K Group, to minimize the damage to the program that will soon air.”
They continued, “I am writing this with the hope that the birth of a better K-pop idol group will allow other trainees participating in the program to receive fair opportunities, and that their dreams will not be in vain or trampled upon, leading to a more beautiful growth of Korea's K-pop culture.”
The author, who identified A as a trainee at domestic B Entertainment, described him as “the king of B Entertainment” and alleged that he frequently engaged in personal attacks.
Ultimately, due to A's actions, some trainees could not endure and voluntarily withdrew, paying penalties.
The author also claimed that A was favored by the company and, recognizing this, he looked down on several company staff members. They revealed that they received psychiatric treatment from August to November of last year, providing evidence to support their claims.
‘Boys2Planet’, which is set to air its first episode on the afternoons of the 17th and 18th, will debut under the title ‘K-Pop World Scale Debut Project’. It depicts the journey of boys starting from two different planets, K Planet and C Planet, coming together to move towards the sun. The concept involves trainees from K Planet, primarily Korean-speaking, and C Planet, primarily Chinese-speaking, competing to dream of forming a single debut group.
