In celebration of the 80th anniversary of Liberation in 2025, KBS will hold a solo concert titled '80th Anniversary of Liberation KBS Special Project - This Moment Forever, Cho Yong-pil.'
The KBS special project is a large-scale initiative that KBS has been presenting for the nation every year during the national holiday Chuseok, featuring legendary artists representing the era on a grand stage for over two hours.
Finally, the stage of Cho Yong-pil, who has been regarded as the most desired performance by the people of South Korea in 2025, has been realized, drawing intense interest even before the event. It is reported that KBS has been knocking on Cho Yong-pil's door for years, hoping to make this stage happen through persistent efforts.
In particular, the upcoming 'This Moment Forever - Cho Yong-pil' is special as it marks Cho Yong-pil's solo stage at KBS after 28 years since the 'Big Show' in 1997, encompassing all generations of South Korea.
This year marks the 57th anniversary of Cho Yong-pil's debut, and it is expected to be a once-in-a-lifetime grand stage. Cho Yong-pil holds numerous records, including being the first in Korea to have a million-selling single album, the first to surpass 10 million total album sales, the first Korean to win the Golden Disk Award in Japan, the first to sell out all seats at the Jamsil Olympic Stadium concert, and the most songs included in music textbooks among domestic pop artists, making him a living legend in the Korean music industry.
In response, KBS stated, "The solo stage of 'Legend, Cho Yong-pil,' which encompasses all generations of South Korea, has finally been confirmed," adding, "'This Moment Forever - Cho Yong-pil' will be held for free at Gocheok Sky Dome on September 6 and will be broadcast on KBS 2TV during the Chuseok holiday. We are delighted to present Cho Yong-pil's special stage to the public and consider it a great honor as a public broadcaster."
The 80th Anniversary of Liberation KBS Special Project 'This Moment Forever - Cho Yong-pil' is expected to be a special and emotional time presented to the entire nation, created in collaboration between Cho Yong-pil and the KBS production team after 28 years.
