Actress Kim Nam-joo shared her thoughts on revealing her 80-pyeong home and daily life.
In the SBS Life broadcast of ‘Queen of Insight Kim Nam-joo’ aired on the 22nd, Kim Nam-joo was depicted as she revealed her home where she has lived with her family for 20 years for the first time.
On that day, when asked by the production team if there was anything she wanted to boast about on ‘Queen of Insight’, Kim Nam-joo replied, “I can’t think of anything since you asked me out of the blue. Flowers? This house? I want to brag about this house where I’ve spent 20 years with my children.”
Afterward, Kim Nam-joo revealed her home for the first time on the show. She introduced the entrance, saying, “When guests come over, I always place flowers at the entrance as a sign of welcome. Today, it’s white lilies, and their meaning is good news.”
Moving to the living room, Kim Nam-joo said, “Isn’t it very neat? Honestly, I can’t live like this. When the kids were growing up, the living room was filled with their stuff. But as the kids grew up, there was a lot of clutter. So I tidied everything up in another room yesterday,” she candidly shared.
Kim Nam-joo commented on a gilded flower object displayed on a bookshelf in the living room, saying, “Does this flower look old? Not long ago, I made a fuss because Kim Seung-woo didn’t buy me flowers for Valentine’s Day, and he said, ‘I’ll get you flowers that don’t wilt,’ and gave me this,” she laughed. She then confessed, “I don’t like gold flowers. I prefer red or pink flowers,” which drew laughter.
Additionally, Kim Nam-joo revealed her garden filled with flowers and trees. She introduced a hideout in the garden, saying, “When I’m home alone, I sit here and enjoy a glass of champagne when it rains. The sound of the rain is just wonderful.”
When the production team joked, “Isn’t Kim Seung-woo lying there like Emperor Nero?” Kim Nam-joo replied, “My husband complains about this, but when we sit together, I always sit next to him like a maid, even though my back hurts a lot.”
Kim Nam-joo said, “Thinking about it now, my pride is that everything I have is old. The house and my personal staff have been with me for almost 20 years. My manager has been with me for nearly 30 years. I’m happy to be able to be with everything around me for so long.”
She also mentioned, “I’ll share my feelings about my first shoot in advance. The drama isn’t my story, right? I’m immersing myself in the role and acting. But today’s shoot is about me. That’s really interesting. Who would film my every move with such expensive equipment for such a long time? I just hope I don’t get criticized,” she joked.
