The first hearing-impaired anchor in Korea has emerged.

On the 5th, KBS announced that Noh Hee-ji (26, hearing-impaired) has been selected as the 8th term disabled anchor. Anchor Noh will take charge of the 'Lifestyle News' segment on 'KBS News 12' starting from the 7th.

Anchor Noh was born with severe hearing impairment but has made continuous efforts, including speech therapy.

Since childhood, she practiced pronunciation by holding chopsticks in her mouth to feel the subtle differences in vibrations, as she could hardly hear her own pronunciation. When presenting the news, she had to turn up the volume of the in-ear device to the maximum to barely hear the director's instructions, requiring her to practice several times more than other anchors.

Anchor Noh expressed her aspirations, saying, "As a member of the public broadcaster KBS, I want to be an anchor who can give hope to viewers," and added, "I want to contribute to changing society's prejudices against disabilities."

Additionally, Anchor Noh felt that simply continuing her studies diligently in regular elementary, middle, and high schools changed the perceptions of those around her regarding disabilities, stating, "I want to help more people believe in their own potential."
