Actor Kim Young-chul is set to embark on the overseas version of ‘Neighborhood Round’.
On the 21st, a press conference was held to celebrate the launch of KBS1's special pilot programs ‘7 Million Arirang’ and ‘Global Korean Journey - Kim Young-chul Goes’ at the KBS headquarters in Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by actor Kim Young-chul, singer Jannabi's Choi Jeong-hoon, the head of the Overseas Korean Cooperation Center Kim Young-geun, and PD Yoon Jin-kyu.
Kim Young-chul will meet viewers through ‘Global Korean Journey - Kim Young-chul Goes’, which will be broadcast over two days on the 28th and 29th.
Kim Young-chul will meet overseas Koreans scattered around the world, delve into their lives, and share deep stories that include their struggles. He has visited San Francisco, USA, and Argentina.
Previously, Kim Young-chul hosted the KBS program ‘Neighborhood Round’ for a long time, communicating with people across the country. He left the program in 2022.
Regarding this, Kim Young-chul stated, “I thought it would be meaningful and good to meet overseas Koreans around the world and support and encourage their lives, so I decided to participate,” and introduced the program as “an overseas version of ‘Neighborhood Round’,” drawing attention.
Along with ‘Kim Young-chul Goes’, Choi Jeong-hoon will also delve into the lives of overseas Koreans.
Choi Jeong-hoon will host the special program ‘7 Million Arirang’, which will be broadcast on the 28th at 7:40 PM.
With a unique musical world and emotions that span generations, Jannabi's vocalist Choi Jeong-hoon participates in a global project to connect the ‘Arirang’ of 7 million overseas Koreans. With the support of the Overseas Korean Cooperation Center, Choi Jeong-hoon will meet overseas Korean youths visiting Korea and discuss their own ‘Arirang’, exploring what ‘Arirang’ means to the Korean people. After intense contemplation and work, the ‘Arirang’ filled with the wishes of Jannabi and overseas Koreans around the world will be revealed through this documentary.
