The cast of ‘The Lighting Store’ praised Director Kim Hee-won’s direction highly.
On the morning of the 3rd, a production presentation for the Disney+ original series ‘The Lighting Store’ took place at the Coex Grand Ballroom in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by Ju Ji-hoon, Park Bo-young, Kim Seol-hyun, Eom Tae-goo, Lee Jung-eun, Kim Min-ha, Park Hyuk-kwon, Shin Eun-soo, Kim Sun-hwa, Director Kim Hee-won, and writer Kang Pool. The event was hosted by broadcaster Park Kyung-rim. One of the lead actors, Bae Sung-woo, was absent due to personal reasons.
‘The Lighting Store’, which will be released on the 4th, tells the story of mysterious guests who visit the only place that brightens the dark alley, ‘The Lighting Store’.
It is being highlighted as Disney+’s most anticipated project following the global sensation ‘Moving’ in 2023, and it is expected to be writer Kang Pool’s second scriptwriting work. In particular, actor Kim Hee-won, who has shown dense acting and amazing expressiveness in numerous films and dramas, including the role of ‘Choi Il-hwan’, the homeroom teacher in ‘Moving’, takes on the role of director for the first time in this series.
Ju Ji-hoon praised Director Kim Hee-won, who is also a senior actor, saying, “Working together, I really felt like I was in a textbook of directing. It was great to see him consistently coming to work on time and leaving on time without fail. Since everything proceeded as prepared, I wondered if there could be such a wonderful set as an actor. I was grateful.”
Park Bo-young also drew attention by being the first to mention her impressions of Director Kim. She said, “Since the director is also an actor, when there were complex acting movements, he would personally go through them and correct any uncomfortable parts. That was impressive.” She added that she was thankful for the frequent feedback texts from Director Kim after filming. Kim Min-ha also chimed in, saying, “He believed in us 100%, so I acted with confidence. I did everything I wanted to do in a fun way. He was a warm person.”
‘The Lighting Store’ consists of a total of 8 episodes. The first 4 episodes will be released consecutively on the 4th, followed by 2 episodes each week for the next 2 weeks.
